A design system project is a set of guidelines, principles, and assets that define how we design our products. The goal is to ensure consistency and efficiency in the design process and to improve the user experience of the products and services offered by BCC.
The problem was that there was no alignment between design and development, resulting in quite a lot of inconsistencies throughout our products. This means that our design files do not match the actual user experience.
A clear and simple structure ensures that all elements are organized and named consistently, making them easier to find and use. It also allows for better collaboration between designers and developers, ensures that everyone is on the same page when it comes to design decisions
The Foundation section of the design system defines the basic elements, typography, color palette, and other fundamental design aspects that are used across all products.
